Wow!! Let’s Go Kayaking!
The new kayaks were delivered about the same time I was preparing to leave for my daughter’s birthday party. Kayaking was put on hold until we celebrated the birthday. What a party! All but one of my grandchildren were there and the party went on for days. My daughter’s actual birthday was August 3rd. The birthday party started July 31 and ended August 8. (We refer to it as the marathon birthday party.) What a fun time we had!! So, the kayaks were stored in the garage until after the party.
Here I am tying down the kayaks to the truck for transport to the lake. We had selected a couple of sit-on-top kayaks that are about 9 feet long and weigh 38 lbs. We chose this size because they fit in the back of our small Ranger pick-up truck and are not too heavy for us to carry. They are refered to as Malibu Mini-X Fish and Dive Kayaks and have fishing pole holders and water tight compartments for carrying essentials. We chose the bright colors to assure that other boats could see us on the water.
Of course each time we go out we have a “purpose” for our outing, or to put it more succinctly a “goal”. We drove to the lake and found this great cove to paddle around in. (I hope you weren’t expecting pictures of us in white water traversing down a waterfall.) This day our goal was to paddle over to a beach on the other side of the cove and eat our lunch and then paddle back. The day was sunny and cool with a nice breeze blowing over the lake. As we sat on a log eating our lunch and feeling the cool breeze and listening to nature, we praised God for the glory of His wonderful creation. Thus our purpose and our goal was fullfilled.

Have a great time with the kayaks. Watch out for those turtles. Some of them snap!
